WP Kontext Gen – Use Flux Kontext via Replicate Directly in your WP Dashboard

I love when I can solve a problem and turn it into a solution that can work for so many other folks. Client was asking me for an easy way to take existing AI generated images that I made with Adobe Firefly and I used to document this in a branding guideline that I created for the client.

You can view the full case study here.

But Adobe Firefly was changing its models and it was making things really difficult You can’t even go backwards to that model anymore. Now there’s Firefly Image Model 3 and Firefly Image Model 4. I tried many times to create the images, but there was no way to keep the consistency or the style. I also really love OpenAI’s image model, but it just takes so long to generate the image.

Enter Black Forest Labs into the picture. They recently released Flux Kontext, and they have their Pro and Max models. I was blown away, not only with the consistency of the styling and the imaging, but more importantly, it is so fast! You can iterate faster and faster with your ideas.

Now just two days ago, flux kontext Dev came out which is the open weight model with 12B parameters. And this has been fantastic to use as well as cost effective. With Claude Code, I created a WordPress plugin that allows my client to generate these images on demand.

Now you can download it yourself and play with the code or install the plugin for free! https://github.com/nerveband/wp-kontext-gen.

It works with Replicate so grab an API key, load it up and use it.

It’s so fun to use and easy to use! Plus, it’s been great to see images quickly transform and then be modified with exactly what you want. I never thought in my lifetime I would see Photoshop become as simple as typing words into a box. It makes me so giddy, like a kid in a candy store. Except the candy is my words and the magic images that appear instantly!

I’m thinking to commercialize the tool so that users don’t have to futz with API keys. Interested in something like this? Email me at hello@ashrafali.net.
