There are some prompts I will spend 20 minutes writing before I drop into an AI. Why?
I’ve always been taught that the value of a question is more powerful in getting more powerful answers. As a society, we don’t invest enough time in asking the right questions. Yet, the more of a subject matter expert (SME) you are, the better expert you are in terms of that query you ask, and the better that the answer will be to benefit you and the subject matter you care about. You need to ask questions in a way that the SME involved that topic or subject would ask this question.
That is a powerful combination that’s often overlooked. Be the SME and drive like an SME with precision. Then let the AI empower your thinking.
As a result, I’m this close to getting the $200/monthly pro subscription due to my fascination of OpenAI’s Deep Research. I’ve been trying some open source models that have given me less than stellar results. I do like Google’s Deep Research, but it’s based on Gemini 1.5 Pro, so you can tell that the output is not as strong. It also doesn’t seem to have a reasoning model behind it (as far as I can tell) behind all the research that it’s doing.
Deep research supercharges us in asking better questions for better answers.
