About Ashraf Ali
Ashraf grew up in the Latin section of Jackson Heights, Queens located in New York City. Spending most of his childhood in NYC, Ashraf grew with the city life and culture of NYC. From fast cars to fast food, NYC was the perfect environment for his creative imagination to flourish. The lush nature of botanical gardens and high rise buildings bring inspiration to his plate, often by using stock photography of skylines in his works.
His fields of expertise range from computer hardware and software to everyday electronics such as televisions, stereos, and the occasional microwave. Ashraf enjoys tweaking his computer hardware and finding all kinds of used junk in order to upgrade his PC for maximum effort. On the software side, he enjoys using operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux while dabbling with technologies such as PHP and .NET with a dash of Python to go on the side.
Design has been his mainstream niche since 5 years ago, when he began on forums with small graphic pieces. Now, working as a freelance artist, Ashraf has built a portfolio ranging from web design, to print, photography, and other mediums.
Often, in his spare time, he will use the computer to surf the web, comment on blogs, post on forums, chat with his friends, and visit social networks such as Facebook and MySpace. His other hobbies include drawing, studying history, playing retro video games, taking amateur photos, watching movies, singing and dancing (horribly), and meditating.
Currently, he is attending The Bronx High School of Science as a junior. He is looking to receive A+ certification along with Cisco Certification and Red Hat Certification by senior year. He is pursuing colleges such as CUNY Honors, Art Institute of New York, The School of Visual Arts and The Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
